Capabilities
What we actually do
NEOMANERA is a software company with a full-lifecycle practice: we define, design, build, release, support and maintain software. This page describes that work without abstraction.
-
Software product development
We design, build and maintain software products end to end — from the first problem statement through to a released, supported application.
- Product definition, technical discovery and scoping.
- Interface design, interaction design and design systems.
- Implementation, automated testing and release engineering.
- Post-release maintenance, security updates and support.
-
Mobile applications
Native and platform-appropriate applications for iOS and Android, built to the conventions, review standards and privacy requirements of each store.
- Native iOS and iPadOS development.
- Native Android development.
- Store submission, review readiness and privacy disclosures.
- Staged rollout, crash monitoring and release health tracking.
-
Software publishing
We publish software under our own name. That means we carry the operational responsibility that comes with it: distribution, licensing, updates and support.
- Distribution through recognised application stores and direct channels.
- Licensing, terms and consumer-rights compliance.
- Versioning, update channels and long-term support policy.
- Customer support processes and response commitments.
-
Backend and cloud services
The services behind our products: APIs, data storage, authentication and the infrastructure that keeps them available.
- API design and implementation.
- Infrastructure as code and reproducible environments.
- Observability, alerting and incident response.
- Data minimisation and retention design.
-
Security and privacy engineering
Security is treated as an engineering discipline with its own budget and review gates, not as a checklist applied at the end of a project.
- Threat modelling at design time.
- Dependency scanning and supply-chain review.
- Secrets management and least-privilege access.
- Responsible disclosure handling and remediation.
-
Technical consulting
Selective engagements where an organisation needs an experienced second opinion on architecture, platform choice or delivery practice.
- Architecture and platform review.
- Mobile release and store-compliance readiness.
- Privacy-by-design assessments.
- Delivery process and engineering practice review.
Process
How a piece of work runs
The same six stages apply whether we are building our own product or working with a client. The stages are not decorative: each one has an output that the next one depends on.
-
Understand
We start with the problem rather than the solution: who is affected, what they do today, what constraint makes the current approach fail, and what a good outcome would look like in measurable terms.
-
Define
We write the scope down — what is included, what is explicitly excluded, the data the system will hold, and the risks we have identified. Ambiguity resolved on paper is far cheaper than ambiguity resolved in code.
-
Design
Interface, architecture and data model are designed together. Privacy and accessibility requirements enter here, where changing them is still inexpensive.
-
Build
Implementation proceeds in reviewed increments against an automated pipeline. Each increment is demonstrable, so progress is observable rather than reported.
-
Release
Releases are produced by automation from a tagged commit, staged where the platform allows it, and monitored for crash-free sessions and error rates before a rollout completes.
-
Maintain
After release the work continues: security updates, platform version support, defect resolution and the support channel that stands behind the product.
Working with us
We take on a small number of external engagements
Most of our capacity goes into our own catalogue. We do take selective consulting and development engagements where the problem fits our practice — typically mobile applications, privacy-sensitive systems, or an organisation that needs an experienced review of an architecture or a release process before committing to it.
If that describes your situation, write to developer@neomanera.co.uk with a short description of the problem. We aim to respond to every enquiry within two working days.
Discuss a project
Tell us what you are trying to build and what constraint is making it difficult. We will tell you honestly whether we are the right people for it.
