light or dark, it is readable only by this website, it is never sent
to our servers, and it is not used to identify you. Under the Privacy and Electronic
Communications Regulations, storage that is strictly necessary to provide a feature you have
explicitly requested does not require consent — remembering a display setting you have just
chosen falls into that category.
If you never touch the theme control, nothing is written at all: the site simply follows your operating system’s light or dark setting.
