NEOMANERA LTD designs, builds and publishes software. The name means 'a new way', and the company exists because we think the conventional way of building consumer software has quietly stopped serving the people who use it.

NEOMANERA is a coined name. It joins neo — new — with manera — way, manner, method. Read together, the idea it carries is straightforward: a new way, or a new approach.
It is a brand name rather than a phrase with an official translation, and it is not an abbreviation of anything. The registered legal name of the company is NEOMANERA LTD; the public-facing brand is NEOMANERA.
We chose a coined name deliberately. A descriptive name would have tied the company to whatever category we happened to start in, and NEOMANERA is not a company built around one category of software.
Why we exist
The default has drifted
A great deal of modern consumer software is designed around extraction. It asks for more data than it needs, measures success by time spent rather than problems solved, and treats the person using it as a source of behavioural signal. None of that is inevitable; it is a set of defaults that accumulated because nobody pushed back.
NEOMANERA is our attempt to push back in the only way that actually counts — by shipping software built on different defaults, and by being specific in public about what those defaults are.
That is a modest claim, and we intend to keep it modest. We are a young company. We have no interest in publishing invented user numbers, borrowed customer logos or a founding myth. What we can offer is a catalogue of software we stand behind, an engineering practice we can describe in detail, and company details that match the public register exactly.

These are the rules we apply when a decision is genuinely difficult — which is the only time a principle is worth anything.
Collect less
We design products to function with the smallest practical amount of personal data. Data that is never collected cannot be breached, mishandled or sold.
Say what is true
We describe our products by what they actually do today. We do not publish invented user counts, unverifiable claims or customer logos we have not earned.
Build for the long term
Software is a commitment, not a launch. We plan for maintenance, security updates and support from the first line of code.
Accessible by default
Our interfaces are expected to work with screen readers, system text sizing, keyboard navigation and reduced-motion settings before they are considered finished.
Engineering over theatre
We prefer boring, well-understood technology, reviewed changes and automated releases to novelty for its own sake.
